Trump’s Flagpoles: A Symbol and a Signal.

Trump wants the world to believe he gifted the White House two giant flagpoles. Not just any flagpoles, but his flagpoles. His personal project. His money. His idea. Because nothing says patriotism like turning national symbols into vanity projects for a disgraced real estate conman convicted of fraud with a deep need for validation and a constant chronic need for attention. He’s fucking exhausting.

Trump says he spent $100,000 on two flagpoles, one for the North Lawn and one for the South. The chance he paid a cent is about as likely as him shutting up for five minutes straight. Odds are the bill landed on taxpayers, not the guy who doesn’t even go to church but still preys and grifts Bibles.

I usually don’t bother writing about Trump lying or blowing taxpayer money because if I started, I’d never stop because he never stops doing either. But one detail got under my skin. A reporter from USA Today posted that Trump’s so-called “gifted” flagpoles are exactly 88-feet tall. That number isn’t random and it’s not harmless.

The same week the White House swapped a bust of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. for one of Winston Churchill, Trump raised two 88-foot flagpoles. Here’s the part that should set off alarms: in white supremacist code, 88 stands for “Heil Hitler” because H is the eighth letter of the alphabet. This is not a fringe theory. It is a documented hate symbol used by neo-Nazis, militias, and violent extremists worldwide.

So when Trump, the man who has dined with Holocaust deniers, watched Elon Musk give a Nazi salute at his inauguration parade, and made his first official act as president the pardoning of nearly 1,600 people for crimes committed during the January 6 Capitol riots - including Packer pictured below, and other known white supremacists and Nazi sympathizers - erects two 88-foot tall flagpoles as his personal gift to America, I’m emphatically calling it his Proud Boy moment, and I’m absolutely calling it out as antisemitic.

Trump wants you to look at those big, beautiful flagpoles and see strength. What I see is a political stunt with fascist undertones from a beta male reeking of desperation who probably can’t even get it up.

This isn’t just about height or erections or getting it up. It’s also about the constant need to question Trump’s antisemitism and his bathing in fucking fascist aesthetics. He loves authoritarian gestures. He wants towering symbols, dramatic backdrops, and military vibes. Certainly not because he respects democracy, but because he craves power. It’s Nazi Germany propaganda with a combover.

And now, he’s erected it on the White House lawn.

So no, Donald. You didn’t give America a gift. You gave white nationalists a wink and yourself another pathetic phallic monument to ego paid for by US.
